Night World

Hi gals:

For those of you looking for another series to read now that you have all finished "Twilight", there is a great resource at the library for you to find similar titles. Just type "if you like Stephenie Meyer" into the word search in the catalogue, and you will get a whole list of titles!

One series you can try is called the "Night World" series by L. J. Smith. We currently have volume 1 in the catalogue (it includes the first 3 books in the series), and have ordered volumes 2 and 3 in the series.

Give them a try!

P.S. Don't forget your homework!

New Blog Feature: Answer our Poll!

Hi everyone!

I've added a new feature to our blog - a poll! Here we can ask both ourselves and visitors to our site different questions, and see what the most popular answers (and opinions) are.

Scroll down to the bottom of the screen to answer our first question:
Twilight the Movie vs. Twilight the Book - what do you think?

If you have any questions you think we could put on our blog, simply send me an email!

The Evil Homework Assignment

As we will not see each other again for almost 2 months (yikes!), I thought we needed a little something to keep us talking through the Holiday Season. So here it is, the Evil Homework Assignment - who knew book clubs had homework?

1. Read as much as you can - that should be pretty easy!
2. Write about what you read. Where? Here, of course! Even if it is simply the title and author of the book you just finished reading (and whether or not anyone should bother reading it), put it here for people to read! I want to see something from everyone at least twice between now and January 14th.
3. The above statements apply to Mothers as well... and Librarians...

Let's show everyone all the great books out there!

Meeting Reminder - November 19

Hi Everyone:

Just a quick reminder that our next meeting is on November 19th - one week from today!
It will be our last meeting for 2008, and we will resume again on January 14th.

Hope everyone has finished or almost finished Elsewhere. Quite the book, huh? There will certainly be lots to talk about. Don't forget to bring your crocheting that you started last time to play with again.

See you soon!

City of Glass in the Catalogue

Hi everyone!

For those of you who read Cassandra Clare's Mortal Instruments series, book 3, City of Glass, is now available in the library catalogue.

The book will not be published until March, 2009, but if you get your name on the list now, you are sure to get it quickly once it's published!

If you haven't tried reading this series, it's definitely worth a go. The first title is City of Bones.

Note for parents: there is some kissing, and some scary scenes, but in content it is a mixture between Harry Potter, and Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

Have fun and see you all soon!
